I follow a ton of primary educators on my personal Instagram. Their insta-stories are like mini-pd sessions that break down content and explain the research behind the activities. They usually have a link to blog posts that go further in depth. #OklaEd

#OklaEd Certainly disappointed but comfortable acknowledging VERY FEW were interested in my blog posts - reason I've happily moved on to alternatives: #PSL daily Twitter posts, posting to @Medium and @Quora - and writing a book on Personal Servant Leadership (PSL)

I've done some research on this and it appears it depends on the platform...I publish posts at 2pm on Thursday, I don't know if it is idea but I read that Thursdays are better than Fridays (that's when I originally started posting) #oklaed

I repost sometimes on @LinkedIn if it serves that purpose.. I did a lot of that when I sharing my teacher study. #oklaed

I've been looking at my blog tonight, that was last updated in April 2014. On there, I have a lot of reflections and photos of things that went well. I think it would give a potential employer a glimpse of what kind of Teacher-Librarian I am. #oklaed

I do think that this the way of blogging now, people can read more if they are interested but they still get a taste of what's going on #oklaed

@PintoBeanz11 has a great blog for early childhood/elem teachers using Google Classroom...my school is Microsoft but her blog and book have been helpful to me as I develop ideas and lessons that incorporate O365. #OklaEd

The nice thing about a WordPress blog is that you can use Jetpack to automate your social media postings. #oklaed I share to FB, Twitter, LinkedIn as soon as I publish. #oklaed

Great question - the ones I enjoy reading tend to be updated as the author has things to update. Mine is updated too infrequently... #oklaed

#OklaEd "Blogging" evolved from a Northern Maine logger who had severely injured his leg while dropping a tree for harvesting. Having a thing for the letter "b," when he began posting his thoughts on social media, he coined the term, BLOGGING!!! at least, that's my understanding.
  • thestephhinton Jan 27 @ 9:58 PM EST
Regularly - don't want people to forget you exist. If not weekly (which I don't do weekly) it's important to put out posts about the content or other resources. #oklaed

I do alot of pintrest, which usually has blogs connected to it. So by clicking on something it takes me to the blog that I then read to get ideas about various math concepts. #oklaed

The term "weblog" was coined by Jorn Barger on 17 December 1997. The short form, "blog", was coined by Peter Merholz, who jokingly broke the word weblog into the phrase we blog in the sidebar of his blog in April or May 1999. #oklaed #Wikipedia #ilearnedsomethingnewjustnow

I understand as a blog reader, and will find the one way I want to follow other bloggers, too. But as a publisher, I reach out in all of those ways, including my mailing list, to provide my audience with whatever option(s) they prefer. #oklaed

Decide what you want the blog to do and what you want it to be about, then find a platform that fits your needs. I google a lot or just ask @TeachFromHere when I can't figure something out. I did a lot of research before I started posting. #oklaed
